Fear Not

The world can be a scary place. From wars to epidemics to natural disasters, we often have good reasons to be afraid. The world can be a scary place. From wars to epidemics to natural disasters, we often have good reasons to be afraid. But Scripture reminds us that we have even better reasons to trust God.

The Bible is full of “Fear Nots” which  help us remember that God is with us, no matter what. Lloyd Ogilvie in Facing the Future without Fear points out that there are 366 “Fear nots” in the Bible, one for every day of the year, including Leap Year! God doesn’t want us to go a single day without hearing his word of comfort: “Fear not!” This is because “... God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”( 2 Timothy 1:7). This is the time to put our trust in God. The Psalmist says “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” (Psalm 56:3). When we call on God He will answer and rescue us from trouble (Psalm 91:15). May the peace of God be with you in these times. Fear Not!
